The Tax-Free First Home Savings Account (FHSA) is designed for future first-time home buyers. It combines the advantages of both the Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) and the Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA). It allows you to make a down payment on your home more quickly.
With the FHSA, you get the following tax benefits:
- A deduction is made on your income tax return.
- Your savings grow tax-free.
- Your withdrawals for the purchase of a first home will not be taxable.
In addition, Épargne Placements Québec’s FHSA offers you:
- Products that are well suited to your FHSA portfolio;
- Advantageous interest rates;
- The advantage of paying no management or administration fees;
- A quarterly portfolio statement allowing you to manage your investments efficiently;
- Investments fully guaranteed by the Québec government, regardless of the amount or term.
